I'm an independent communications specialist and freelance writer and editor with an Honours degree in English Language and Literature, a post-graduate Certificate in Strategic Marketing Management, a strong business background and many years of experience.
I've been in private practice since 2002 and trade under the name of Cahill Communications, providing advisory, communications, writing and editing services for nearly 200 clients and agencies, both locally and internationally.
I work with clients either directly or as a supplier to their agencies.
I specialise in corporate, stakeholder and marketing communications, developing integrated reporting suites, white papers, corporate profiles, parliamentary submissions and more for a range of clients in various sectors. I also develop media content, including media releases, editorial features, op-eds, thought-leadership pieces, website copy, social media content and stakeholder communications, including results announcements.
As a sub-editor, I advise on and edit business strategies and plans, management reports, specialist research reports, development and impact reports, academic papers, conference material and regulatory submissions and presentations.
In my advisory work, I specialise in communications policy, communications strategy, reputational risk management, key messaging guidelines and language usage.
Since 2023, I've also worked as an independent contractor on AI training and evaluation projects, providing expertise in various domains - including business strategy, business management, marketing, media, journalism, public policy, public administration, governance, arts, culture and the humanities - for top frontier AI labs.

I offer standard rates for ad hoc and media work and provide detailed quotes for larger projects based on the client's brief. Per-project costs are guaranteed unless there is a change in brief or scope.
