Welcome to my online portfolio.

I'm an independent communications specialist and freelance writer and editor with an Honours degree in English Language and Literature, a post-graduate Certificate in Strategic Marketing Management, a strong business background and many years of experience.

I've been in private practice since 2002 and trade under the name of Cahill Communications, providing communications, writing and editing services for nearly 200 clients and agencies, both locally and internationally.

I work with clients either directly or as a supplier to their agencies.

I specialise in corporate, marketing and media communications, developing integrated reporting suites, white papers, corporate profiles, parliamentary submissions and more for a range of clients in various sectors. I also develop media content, including media releases, editorial features, op-eds, thought-leadership pieces, website copy, social media content and a range of stakeholder communications, such as results announcements.

From time to time, I help clients to develop or edit business strategies and plans, management reports, specialist research reports, development and impact reports, academic papers, conference material and parliamentary submissions and presentations. I also train AI models and have worked on a number of large projects since 2022.

In my consulting work, I specialise in developing communications policy, key messaging guidelines and language style guides.

The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) Annual Report, Corporate Citizenship Report, People's Guide to the Annual Report and Presentation to the Parliamentary Committee on Transport (2025), commissioned by CTRL Copy. I was the content researcher, senior writer and sub-editor on these projects.

The PPS (Professional Provident Society) Integrated Report for 2024, commissioned by Ince. I researched, compiled, wrote and edited the narrative content for the PPS Integrated Report from 2019 to 2024.

The ACSA (Airports Company South Africa) Integrated Annual Report for 2024, commissioned by Ince. I researched, compiled, wrote and edited the ACSA Integrated Annual Report in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The ACSA Governance and Remuneration Report for 2024, commissioned by Ince. I researched, compiled, wrote and edited this report in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The South Ocean Holdings Integrated Annual Report for 2024, commissioned by the client. I research and develop the narrative content for this report annually.
